FOUNDATION

The Cottesloe Golf Club Foundation has been established with the objective of creating a reserve of funds from donations, bequests, approved events and third party sources to be applied for the purposes described below.

The Foundation is a separate body, independent from the Club’s board and management, under the supervision of a board of Trustees who administer and disburse funds in accordance with the prudential structures contained in the Deed of Establishment.

The Trustees must report annually with details of funds held and any funding activities and disbursements made by the Foundation.

Purpose

The Cottesloe Golf Club Foundation aims to be a source of financial support to create a healthy reserve of funds for the ongoing viability of Cottesloe Golf Club, that is not otherwise available to the Club via membership subscriptions and entrance fees.

The Club is the custodian of the land upon which the course and facilities are located.

Funds raised are applied for the purposes set out in the Deed of Establishment.

  • to maintain and improve the Club
  • support the development of new facilities and capital projects
  • to enhance the golf course and and practice facilities
  • projects to preserve the Club’s history
  • support junior development
  • to protect and enhance our natural environment
  • support initiatives within our community

FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTIONS

Contributions can be made directly to the Foundation or paid to the Foundation via an account established by the Australian Sporting Foundation, with donations eligible to claim a deduction from income tax.

We look forward to your support which we hope will make a significant difference to the future of Cottesloe Golf Club.

Foundation bank account

A bank account has been established at the Commonwealth Bank which allows members to make donations directly to the Foundation as one offs or periodically, from either a bank account or credit card.

Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) donations

By making donations to the Foundation through the ASF, a tax-deductible receipt can be issued to the donor, provided:

  • the donation is voluntary
  • the donor (their relatives and associates) must not receive or be offered a material benefit in return for their donation, and
  • the ASF Terms & Conditions must be accessible to the donor (please see below for this link)

Bequests

A bequest is a wonderful way to celebrate your connection with the Club and leave a legacy that will benefit future generations of Members.

A bequest may be made to the Foundation to support the Club in general, or may be directed to a particular purpose such as Junior Development.

FOUNDATION SUPPORTED PROJECTS

Scholarships

Foundation Chair Stuart Barrymore, congratulates this year’s scholarship recipients Elise, Michael, Charlie and Edmund.

The Foundation is committed to supporting junior development and those who have shown talent and commitment to golf, by funding Cottesloe’s Scholarship program.

The Foundation has pledged up to $10,000 for the 2024/25 season which assists recipients with membership fees, competition fees, coaching and merchandise.

This year we congratulate, Elise Gavin, Michael Hanrahan Smith, Charlie Parker and Edmund Hall on their successful selection.

The Foundation wishes them all the best for the year ahead.
